Living Levels

This sculpture is based on the apartments in the Living Levels building visible in the background. It preserves their original design and occupies 7.6 m²—the portion of an apartment in this building that a middle-income resident of Berlin could purchase with a mortgage. Located beside the East Side Gallery, the full apartment would take 280 years to repay.
