This is the dialogue between the daughter of a volcano and the child of a river. They want to know each other better, to know where they come from, and what questions guide them. Through this talk they explore a genealogy that connects us with deep time.

Liquid Volcanoes took place on the first day of the Intergovernmental Panel on Art and Climate Change (IPACC), 2022, held at the Jan van Eyck Academie. The performance took place before and after Bayo Akomolafe’s keynote speech. The IPAAC explores further integration of the arts, social sciences and humanities, within the interface between science and global policy-making, acknowledging that both the impacts and solutions to climate change are deeply mediated by culture.
